The Leaders-in-Training program helps participants develop and hone their leadership skills, build confidence, and show responsibility as role models.
This program is designed with the idea that leaders are made, not born.
At Brooks, we develop lifelong leaders over a three-year process, and each year compounding on the previous years work.
Participants will gain skills that extend beyond Brooks and follow them through all aspects of their life.
The Leader-in-Training Program from the first year to the third provides teens with a variety of mentored healthy experiences in a safe, outdoor environment that highly skilled professionals supervise.
After successfully completing this three-year program, LITs, who are at least 16 years old, are encouraged to apply for a staff position.
Objective:
The position is responsible for nurturing and supervising Leaders-In-Training (LIT) to ensure they have a healthy, fun experience while developing their skills to become successful members of our camp community.
The coordinator will work with first-year LITs as part of a two-person team.
Essential DutiesAssists in the training of the LITs.
Ensures the health and safety of the LIT group at all times.
Directs LITs through their daily schedule.
Collaborates with Group and Activity Counselors to develop effective mentoring skills.
Acts as a mentor to their assigned LITs.
Actively participates in the LIT program.
Serves as a role model for appropriate behavior at all times.
Meets LITs in the parking lot every morning at 8:
30 AM.
Dismisses LITs in the parking lot every afternoon at 4:
00 PM.
Provides LIT training as needed and participates in orientation night.
Provides ongoing feedback and evaluation to assigned LITs.
Participates in LIT team meetings.
Supports dismissal or other duties as assigned by the LIT Supervisor or Director of Auxiliary Programs.
Attends and participates in orientation and weekly staff meetings.
Provides leadership to encourage participation in all camp events.
Communicates with the Day Camp leadership team and LIT Supervisor regarding LITs performance, behavior and concerns.
Formally participate in a mid-season and end of season staff evaluation with the LIT Supervisor.
Assists in evaluating the entire camp operation with suggestions for the following season.
Brings forth ideas, thoughts and suggestions to enrich the LIT training experience.
Collaborates with the summer programs staff to ensure the effectiveness of the LIT program and solves problems that arise.
Help create an atmosphere for developing good morale and well-being among the camp family.
Provides support during the all-camp events.
Packs materials and supplies at the end of the season.
Maintains an inventory of all equipment and supplies.
Communicates and collaborates effectively with students, parents, and summer programs staff.
Provides the LIT Supervisor with regular updates.
Keeps appropriate records to include attendance, LIT performance, and other recordkeeping activities as necessary.
Gets along well with others and deal effectively with supervisors, coordinators, counselors, children and visitors.
Keeps appropriate records to include incident reports.
Complies with all local, state, and Federal regulations.
Maintains confidentiality in all matters.
Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
