Our client in North Andover, Massachusetts (MA) is an environmental company with a long term temporary opening for a Financial Analyst. Reporting to the Platform controller and the VP of NA Operations, this individual will interact with a team of site controllers and other business colleagues to collect, analyze, and provide financial analysis and accounting support. Relies heavily on analytical abilities and experience to sort through complex data and prepare meaningful information to assist management with decision making, accounting deliverables, and business performance metrics and reports. As a member to the platform finance team, this individual will work cross functionally to identify areas of improvement in process and operations. Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide meaningful, timely financial analysis of business performance and opportunities
Prepare and present monthly financial review for senior management at the business unit, company, and corporate level
Monitor, analyze, investigate, and report variances to standard, budget, and prior periods
Review, report on, and analyze performance of business units, products, customers, and operations Make recommendations where appropriate
Perform product costing, pricing support, and profitability analyses
Compile, maintain, and evaluate unit sales and financial forecasts
Assist in the development of annual and multi-year operating plans Analyze budgets and supporting schedules to validate completeness, accuracy, and reasonableness
Extract and utilize data from various information systems to support additional information requirements as needed
Participate in the month end financial close process
Proactively recommend changes where appropriate to assure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 requirements, GAAP, and the company's Accounting Policies and Procedures
BS/BA in Accounting or related BS/BA degree with equivalent experience. MBA/CMA is a plus
Experience in a similar role, managerial role in finance or accounting for a manufacturing company
Capable of researching, retrieving, organizing, and summarizing data to prepare reports, financial journal entries, and financial analysis
Demonstrated ability in analyzing, interpreting, and communicating financial information to all levels of management
Strong database query skill including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong database query skills including and experience working with finance systems such as Hyperion Essbase, Business Objects, SQL, SAP, Great Plains, PeopleSoft
