Vice President, Material Processing & Engineering

Amastan Technologies, is a high-tech start-up based in North Andover, MA. We are focused on the production of materials for applications involving additive manufacturing, LED lighting and displays, lithium ion batteries and semiconductor polishing. Amastan's UniMelt(TM) plasma technology enables customers to tailor ceramic, metal, or composite materials to their specifications to meet the requirements of advanced end-products. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President of Engineering will be leading world-class teams that develop and deliver innovative leading-edge products and solutions in fast-paced competitive global markets for sustainable growth. These activities will serve to significantly drive value creation for the company and its shareholders.   Leadership & Management Responsibilities:        Develop and execute product development roadmaps in collaboration with Business Unit, CTO, and Equipment Product teams        Manage engineering team effectively to project timelines and budgets        Day to day interaction and management of engineering team including: formal performance reviews, informal mentorship and coaching, recognizing outstanding performance, and correcting poor performance        Responsible for building program management expertise and eventually providing program management services across the matrixed organization        Support recruiting, hiring, and training of new engineering staff and professional development of existing staff        Establish documentation and processes to improve efficiency and reliability of engineering workflow        Provide clear and concise communication within the Executive team, Board of Directors, and investors             Technical Responsibilities:        Serve as a key member of the management team that sets that company's strategic direction        Responsible for transitioning projects from Concept and Feasibility to Manufacturing by engineering solutions for reliability, manufacturability, and repeatability        Work with business unit teams to develop and refine functionality requirements for new and existing products        Ownership of the technical content generated by the engineering department in the areas of: product development, engineering for project delivery, commissioning and support of customer applications engineering        Direct and manage multiple concurrent engineering projects, delegating authority and responsibility to team        Ensure that products and projects incorporate industry best practices by combining in house experience with external resource knowhow        Identify possible technology partners where needed and develop and maintain relationships with technology partners and engineering vendors        Engage with customers on site specific design and implementation details        Work with CTO to establish targets for research in support of engineering activities        Occasional travel to pilot and customer sites to review results, and on site management of product integration   Key Attributes necessary for the position include:        Multidisciplinary technical leadership: Possesses a strong depth and breadth of knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines combined with extensive experience in multidisciplinary technical leadership        Streamlined product development and innovation: Extensive experience with engineering and new product development methodologies (e.g. crowd sourcing, Stage-Gate, Agile, Scrum, lean), processes, practices, and metrics        Solid experience with ISO 9000, risk management, testing, verification and validation (V&V)        Experience being part of an engineering team on multiple full product lifecycles, from prototyping to end-of-life        Strong team building and leadership development: A proven ability to build, recruit, inspire, and lead highly effective global engineering organizations that deliver under a tight timeframe        Quickly become an industry expert as a key driver contributing to the products roadmap and willing to consider innovate product development risks while balance time deliverables        Ability to manage diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities        Ability to be hands-on as required by the situation and be willing to learn and educate oneself on the necessary technical details        Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, strong in building relationships, creative with the ability to work on own initiative        Prior experience working in venture-backed startup environments ?
Salary Range: $180K - $225K

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
